It still feels a bit weird to think that I am a prefect. Last year, as a new student, I would have never imagined myself becoming a prefect. I am so grateful that the position was given to me by the whole school, because to me, this meant that I fully belong to this new community.

I can’t believe that happened months ago! I remember filming my campaign video late at night with my mom’s help after finishing an overwhelming number of assignments. I remember designing my campaign poster while on a Google Meet with a friend who was running for a different position, constantly trying out different ideas. I remember being incredibly nervous backstage before my speech. Only now do I feel like I’m finally settling into being a Prefect and my red tie. At first, I was so busy getting to know my council members, attending weekly council meetings, and going to Prefect meetings as well. I had no idea this role would come with so many responsibilities. From school promotion to planning and leading our prefect council’s own initiatives, my school life has been busier than I ever expected.

One of the most rewarding experiences is watching the Junior School Council members and the Prefects become closer! I love seeing us get to know one another better and work together toward the same goal. Also, I cannot express how much I love our prefect council in words!!! I genuinely believe that we are the best team of prefects to have ever existed : ) We’re all so different, but similar in a way that we all care about each other and BHA, and I think that’s what makes this team so special!
