The journey it took to release my first album, “Unfailing Love,” has been recorded as a video diary, and I would love to share this in my blog! I still can’t believe I have my own official music album of 2 tracks, with my own lyrics, and a full song created with 4 other younger students that I taught myself. I guess it would be right to call this album “our” album, since I cannot talk about it without mentioning my students 🙂
I have tutored many times before, and I have plenty of experience in leading many young students both in school and outside of school. But I was never an official instructor of an organization!! Though I was an unpaid teacher, I was still an officially recognized temporary employee of Jeju City Youth Center. So I really put in my best effort in designing my lessons. It felt weird to be called a “teacher” by students only 2-3 years younger than myself. At the same time, that small age gap helped me connect with them more easily. I felt like I could understand them better than anyone else and be a teacher they felt comfortable talking to!
This certainly is such a meaningful memory to me. Enjoy the video!
